Take Your Pick

Good morning everyone, Can you believe it's time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly'... Where is time going too!! .... anyhow it's 'Take Your Pick' this week and there are a few options you can choose from..  There's a sketch, colour, Technique and Product... I have gone with technique which is to make a tag or include a tag... This is my first attempt with grunge paste, stencils and paints... I loved it, but messed up a hell of a lot lol!!.. this isn't brilliant, and I would have liked to have had another attempt but time isn't on my side at the moment! My first attempt at stamping straight on to the paint was a disaster, I didn't press hard enough and I had put quiet a lot of time into colouring etc.. but the magical thing about paint is, I was able to paint over it and stamp the sentiment again!!.. also what I didn't realize was that I had used the stencil back to front lol!! but I don't think it looks too bad does it!...

I noticed my ribbon was fraying, so I tided it up a little although I think I liked it looking a bit rough! It also started out being cream coloured.. I dyed it with Tim Holtz distress inks to make it match better with my paint, I do suggest you use gloves for this as it took a couple of days for the dye on my hands to disappear lol!!

My little butterfly started it's life out as silver I have painted it and given it the Treasure Gold treatment .. I love this stuff and put it on everything these days lol!!, I also used Treasure Gold around the edges of the tag..

What I used
Stencil - Papermania - Summer Blooms
Paints - PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics
Colours used Bora Bora, South Pacific, and Hey Pesto
Docrafts Artiste - All Purpose White Acrylic Paint
Reeves - Medium Yellow, Brilliant Red Acrylic Paints
Treasure Gold Gilding Wax
Sentiment - Inkylicious
Inks - Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Ribbon - The Ribbon Girl
Script Stamp - Kaisercraft

It would be lovely if you could join in this week, also do take a peek at what my lovely teamies have made, they are always coming up with wonderful ideas...

Just wanted to say also that I won't be around for a few weeks, as my son and family are coming from Germany for two weeks. We are so looking forward to seeing them all as Christmas was the last time we saw them, I can't believe that our little granddaughter Annelie is almost a year old and Liam is 8   Then David and I want to take a couple of weeks for ourselves, we need some time out to catch up with ourselves, if you know what I mean lol!! We always seem to be rushing all the time and not really achieving what we want, so we are both getting stressed lol!! My Mum isn't in the best of health at the minute either.

I would just like to say a big 'Thank You' to all you lovely ladies that leave me beautiful comments, I really appreciate the time you take to come and visit, as I know life can be pretty hectic at times for all of us.. you all take care... see you in a few weeks xx

Build it Up

Hi Everyone, what a funny old week we have had... rain, beautiful sunshine, gusty winds, all we need now is a bit of the white stuff lol!!... It's time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' and this week it is 'Build it Up'.. which means no flat cards we need to see layers please.... My photo is a bit rubbishy this week, have taken several but the light was never right, it looks a bit lopsided too, in real life it looks lovely... I cased one of my teamies ideas with the little tags, hope you don't mind Debs...  Do you like my new die I got from the show, it's the little swirls that are on my flower arrangement..  it's a Noor Design from Joy Crafts.. it has a lovely oval frame with it too, can't wait to use it! I've lifted all the layers up with foam pads, all the flowers and image got the stickle treatment and it's very sparkly lol!!

'Tis The Season....

Good morning everyone.. I always seem to be rushing these days, I wish the roundabout would slow down a little so I could enjoy what I'm doing lol!! I did have a lovely week-end though as I managed to go to the Summer Crafting show at Donny.. I was a little disappointed as some of my favourite crafty shops weren't there and I didn't see any demonstrations either ... (Not what I wanted to see anyway).. I met up with my friend Carole and we had a really good catch up lol!! Needed more talk time though lol!! I also met Dawny she was on the tonic stall demonstrating, it was so nice to see her and have a little catch up with her too!...  Then on Sunday Debs popped up so it was a great finish to a great week-end!!....
Not a lot of time for crafting though, I only just managed to make this card by the skin of my teeth lol!!... hope you like it.. it's a 'Wobble Card' I have never made one before, but it was so simple to make... just a large circle folded in half and the rest is self explanatory, I  have used lots of red stickles and glitter so waiting for everything to dry was quiet a mission as I wanted to put it together quickly lol!! .... I'm defiantly going to make more of these, they are soooo cute!

The challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' is 'Anything but square'... so I decided to make another Christmas card.. that's two now, aren't I good lol!!

Something for the Boys.....

Good morning all... what a mixed bag of weather we are having, I still find it hard to believe we are in June lol!!.. Hope you all had a great week. I went to the Stamp Magic show at Doncaster Dome on Sunday, it was hosted by Paula from 'Which Craft' and what a fabulous show it was.. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I wasn't going to go as my daughter Debs couldn't make it, I was a bit dubious about going on my own but off I went and had a lovely time... Watched a few demonstrations on Multi Media, painting and inking.... really learnt a lot!.. the girls were all so helpful and full of inspiration and encouragement. I'm really eager to try Multi Media so bought some paints and grunge paste and some really lovely stamps which I will share over the coming weeks.. I'm really eager to give this new technique a try, I just can't wait to get into my craft room now lol!!

As it's Tuesday again it's time for another challenge over at 'Paper Take Weekly' and this week it's to make something for the boys... It can be a Fathers day card or simply just a card for a man or boy, or even a baby card.... I've been playing with my inks and stamps this week and this is what I did...  I stamped my image on a plain sheet of card then started to colour all around it with my inks I stamped some extra images on there too, to create a back drop for the image.... I stamped a separate image, coloured it in and cut it out and then decoupaged it... I quiet like the result and it's something different for me. I ruffed all the edges and inked the cogs and corners and the jute mesh ribbon was originally bright pink lol!! I dyed it with several different colours of distress inks, quiet like the way it turned out.. I went around all the edges with wax gilt to give it a metal look, it does look a lot nicer in real life, the backing paper is more of a green colour...

It's A Good Day....

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good bank holiday!! David and I took Mum with us to a Land Rover show at the week-end, she's always loved to come with us but it was quiet a struggle for her to get around even with the little walker we bought her.  We had a lovely picnic at lunch time, then Mum and I sat in the sunshine while David went and had another look around on his own.  I feel quiet sad as she's always loved the shows but it's a bit too much for her now.. but we had a lovely day all the same and the weather was kind to us too!

Well it's time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' and this week you have a lovely variety of options to choose from, or you can incorporate all of them if you like.... I have chosen to do Dawny's lovely sketch plus the colour choice of Blue and Green... Do pop along to the main challenge blog and see all the options.

I'v made quiet a simple card and it's for my Mum who is 88 yrs young today!! she doesn't see very well as she has AMD, so I haven't made anything too fussy. The hearts are in my paper and image also I've added 3 little hearts under the word MUM... the ribbon looks lovely as it has sparkly bits along both edges which you can't really see in the photos... I also stickled the lovely roses and butterflies to make them sparkle too!

In The Garden....

Good morning everyone, hope you all have had a fabulous week... It's been beautiful the last few days here in Yorkshire, a little nippy at times but lovely in the sun!... sorry I haven't been able to get round for a visit, but this week has been a bit manic, with appointments for Mum, and extra hours at work...
Anyway up and onward lol!!.... It's Tuesday today, so time for another challenge over at Papertake Weekly, and this week Dawny would love anything to do with the garden... it could be flowers, or a garden based image or what ever your interpretation of  'In the Garden' means to you....  I have chosen butterflies and flowers... and of course I would love to see this little fairy in my garden somewhere too lol!!

I used the art pads from LOTV and decoupaged the butterflies and little fairy:).. my cutting out isn't too brilliant but I don't think it looks too bad! I tried to take a photo of the little fairies wings as they look lovely, I glittered them all up the same as her little skirt, but it doesn't show up too well, but I think you can get the idea... the lovely papers were a freebie with a magazine and matched the pre-coloured image perfectly...  the gorgeous flowers and ribbon are from the Ribbon Girl, the sentiment is from LOTV, I use these all the time, love them!..

Friend...

Good morning everyone, hope you all had a fabulous bank holiday!! .. sorry I had no card last week but I'm a little snowed under at the moment.. overtime at work, and having David at home doesn't leave me with a lot of spare time lol!! David's hips are a little better, the pain doesn't seem to be as intense as it was before the injection, and he's having physio now as well!... we are waiting now for another appointment to have another injection in to his other hip, so fingers crossed!!..

Well it's Tuesday and time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly'... and this week it's 'Anything Goes'  with the option of  'No Pattern Paper'...  I can't take any credit for the card I've made this week as the layout I found on the internet or a magazine, but this is my take on it, can't remember exactly where I saw it now sorry!!..

I'm struggling a bit at the moment with my weight!!... it's been six weeks now that I've been trying to loose a few pounds but the chocolate bar and cake always wins at the moment!!  I now weigh 1 kilo heavier than when I started....  This week I'm determined not to have any chocolate or cake, and I really must do more exercise, will let you know how I go on next week, it doesn't help either that Mr. Mojo has packed his bags and go on annual leave lol!!
Anyway you all have a lovely week,

Cute as a button....

Good morning everyone, what a fabulous week-end we have had... I  think Summer isn't too far away!...  As you know from last week David went for his injection, all went well for a few days but sadly it seems to be wearing off.  He was over the moon for a couple of days then, all of a sudden his leg gave way and he has started with the pain again.. not as severely but it does seem to be creeping up again... he will give it a little longer and then I think it's back to the specialist....

It's Tuesday already and time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly'.... so what would Dawny like to see this week, well it's nice and easy... you can do cute or you can include a button, or you can do both!... easy, peasy!! I read the challenge wrong and thought it was all about buttons!!.. but it's ok as what I made still fits in with the challenge.

Create with your Soul...

Good morning everyone, hope you have all had a lovely week, hasn't it been gorgeous!  The week-end was a bit cool here in Yorkshire, and we had a flash of hailstone too!... but lovely all the same lol!!
Being Tuesday it's time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weely' and this week Dawny would like the main focus of the card to be Words... I've made a card from a beautiful stamp from a company called 'Visible Image' called 'Create with your Soul'.. I bought this last year and haven't had the opportunity to stamp it up.. so here goes! I wanted to try and make a vintage style card but it's turned out a bit steam punk!! I really enjoyed messing with all the inks, but would do a few things differently next time... I die cut the clock in craft card, then painted it with gesso, then added all different colours of Tim Holtz distress inks, it was a lot darker yesterday and the colours were better, so next time I think I will leave it to dry completely before assembling as I think it could have done with more colour on it, it looked a bit whitish the following morning!..  I also bought some fabulous wax gilt last week-end and I've put it on everything lol!! it does give a lovely finish!!

This week it's anything goes with the option of adding a bunny, I didn't have time to colour any images so I thought this lovely art pad design from LOTV would be nice and colourful. Super Striker

Good morning everyone:) Are we really into the first week of March already, it seems forever since I last posted, but here I am back again, and hope to be able to blog a little more often.... my hubby retired recently and we are trying to get into some kind of routine lol!! it is a bit hit and miss with my crafting at the moment so I'm just taking one day at a time...  I have managed to make a card for my grandsons 7th Birthday... just don't know where the time has gone since he was first born... he is really into football at the moment so thought this cute image from LOTV fitted the bill perfectly.

Also it's another great challenge over at Papertake Weekly The challenge this week is Anything Goes with an option of using flowers if you like... No flowers from me this week though, although I did think about adding a few daisies in the grass, then thought better of it lol!!

A peak at the inside

The image is called Super Striker and I have coloured him with my inktense pencils, I finally had a chance to use this lovely die from MFT called chicken wire. I think it makes a fabulous net with a little cheese cloth behind it. I decoupaged the football to make it stand out a little more too but you can't really see it in the photo's. I used the pieces from the chicken wire die to mount Liam's name on, they were just the right size!

LOTV are sponsoring us this week and there's a £10 voucher for the lucky winner!!

Hope you will join us this week, we would love to see all your gorgeous cards.  Do pop along to the main blog and check out what the rest of the team have done!!
