Take Your Pick

Good morning everyone, Can you believe it's time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly'... Where is time going too!! .... anyhow it's 'Take Your Pick' this week and there are a few options you can choose from..  There's a sketch, colour, Technique and Product... I have gone with technique which is to make a tag or include a tag... This is my first attempt with grunge paste, stencils and paints... I loved it, but messed up a hell of a lot lol!!.. this isn't brilliant, and I would have liked to have had another attempt but time isn't on my side at the moment! My first attempt at stamping straight on to the paint was a disaster, I didn't press hard enough and I had put quiet a lot of time into colouring etc.. but the magical thing about paint is, I was able to paint over it and stamp the sentiment again!!.. also what I didn't realize was that I had used the stencil back to front lol!! but I don't think it looks too bad does it!...

I noticed my ribbon was fraying, so I tided it up a little although I think I liked it looking a bit rough! It also started out being cream coloured.. I dyed it with Tim Holtz distress inks to make it match better with my paint, I do suggest you use gloves for this as it took a couple of days for the dye on my hands to disappear lol!!

My little butterfly started it's life out as silver I have painted it and given it the Treasure Gold treatment .. I love this stuff and put it on everything these days lol!!, I also used Treasure Gold around the edges of the tag..

What I used
Stencil - Papermania - Summer Blooms
Paints - PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics
Colours used Bora Bora, South Pacific, and Hey Pesto
Docrafts Artiste - All Purpose White Acrylic Paint
Reeves - Medium Yellow, Brilliant Red Acrylic Paints
Treasure Gold Gilding Wax
Sentiment - Inkylicious
Inks - Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Ribbon - The Ribbon Girl
Script Stamp - Kaisercraft

It would be lovely if you could join in this week, also do take a peek at what my lovely teamies have made, they are always coming up with wonderful ideas...

Just wanted to say also that I won't be around for a few weeks, as my son and family are coming from Germany for two weeks. We are so looking forward to seeing them all as Christmas was the last time we saw them, I can't believe that our little granddaughter Annelie is almost a year old and Liam is 8   Then David and I want to take a couple of weeks for ourselves, we need some time out to catch up with ourselves, if you know what I mean lol!! We always seem to be rushing all the time and not really achieving what we want, so we are both getting stressed lol!! My Mum isn't in the best of health at the minute either.

I would just like to say a big 'Thank You' to all you lovely ladies that leave me beautiful comments, I really appreciate the time you take to come and visit, as I know life can be pretty hectic at times for all of us.. you all take care... see you in a few weeks xx

Build it Up

Hi Everyone, what a funny old week we have had... rain, beautiful sunshine, gusty winds, all we need now is a bit of the white stuff lol!!... It's time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' and this week it is 'Build it Up'.. which means no flat cards we need to see layers please.... My photo is a bit rubbishy this week, have taken several but the light was never right, it looks a bit lopsided too, in real life it looks lovely... I cased one of my teamies ideas with the little tags, hope you don't mind Debs...  Do you like my new die I got from the show, it's the little swirls that are on my flower arrangement..  it's a Noor Design from Joy Crafts.. it has a lovely oval frame with it too, can't wait to use it! I've lifted all the layers up with foam pads, all the flowers and image got the stickle treatment and it's very sparkly lol!!

'Tis The Season....

Good morning everyone.. I always seem to be rushing these days, I wish the roundabout would slow down a little so I could enjoy what I'm doing lol!! I did have a lovely week-end though as I managed to go to the Summer Crafting show at Donny.. I was a little disappointed as some of my favourite crafty shops weren't there and I didn't see any demonstrations either ... (Not what I wanted to see anyway).. I met up with my friend Carole and we had a really good catch up lol!! Needed more talk time though lol!! I also met Dawny she was on the tonic stall demonstrating, it was so nice to see her and have a little catch up with her too!...  Then on Sunday Debs popped up so it was a great finish to a great week-end!!....
Not a lot of time for crafting though, I only just managed to make this card by the skin of my teeth lol!!... hope you like it.. it's a 'Wobble Card' I have never made one before, but it was so simple to make... just a large circle folded in half and the rest is self explanatory, I  have used lots of red stickles and glitter so waiting for everything to dry was quiet a mission as I wanted to put it together quickly lol!! .... I'm defiantly going to make more of these, they are soooo cute!

The challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' is 'Anything but square'... so I decided to make another Christmas card.. that's two now, aren't I good lol!!

Something for the Boys.....

Good morning all... what a mixed bag of weather we are having, I still find it hard to believe we are in June lol!!.. Hope you all had a great week. I went to the Stamp Magic show at Doncaster Dome on Sunday, it was hosted by Paula from 'Which Craft' and what a fabulous show it was.. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I wasn't going to go as my daughter Debs couldn't make it, I was a bit dubious about going on my own but off I went and had a lovely time... Watched a few demonstrations on Multi Media, painting and inking.... really learnt a lot!.. the girls were all so helpful and full of inspiration and encouragement. I'm really eager to try Multi Media so bought some paints and grunge paste and some really lovely stamps which I will share over the coming weeks.. I'm really eager to give this new technique a try, I just can't wait to get into my craft room now lol!!

As it's Tuesday again it's time for another challenge over at 'Paper Take Weekly' and this week it's to make something for the boys... It can be a Fathers day card or simply just a card for a man or boy, or even a baby card.... I've been playing with my inks and stamps this week and this is what I did...  I stamped my image on a plain sheet of card then started to colour all around it with my inks I stamped some extra images on there too, to create a back drop for the image.... I stamped a separate image, coloured it in and cut it out and then decoupaged it... I quiet like the result and it's something different for me. I ruffed all the edges and inked the cogs and corners and the jute mesh ribbon was originally bright pink lol!! I dyed it with several different colours of distress inks, quiet like the way it turned out.. I went around all the edges with wax gilt to give it a metal look, it does look a lot nicer in real life, the backing paper is more of a green colour...
