Lace And Pearls

Good morning everyone, did you have a good Fathers Day, we had a bbq and toasted David with a nice glass of wine, he was thoroughly spoilt by all his girls lol!! The weather is very unsettled again here in Yorkshire, looks like we could be in for another down pour!...hope it's sunny where you are... well being Tuesday it's time for another lovely challenge at 'Papertake Weekly' and Dawny would love to see some Lace/ Pearls or both on your card. My friends daughter is turning 30 soon and loves her dogs, but also loves handbags and shoes!! so I turned to this lovely image again from LOTV, I do love this stamp and it's a breeze to colour....  I used my Inktense pencils again.. I am loving them!!

On the inside

I'm not too sure about the numbers on this card, I think they are too big, but too late to change it now as I used Incredibly Tacky Glue and it really sticks lol!!... anyway I embossed them and the corner embellishment with shabby pink embossing powder by Stampendous.  I added lace and string pearls I did want to put more pearls on the inside, but have run out of them... Oh! dear! I'll have to go shopping again lol!!..  Sorry about the photo's I still haven't quiet got the light right yet lol!!

What I used
Image - 'Handbags' - LOTV
Sentiment - 'Quotables' - LOTV
Stamped Butterfly - 'Grunge Elements' - LOTV
Lace - Craft Show
Pearl String - Ribbon Girl

Papertake Weekly - A lovely Sketch

Good morning everyone,
Hope you all have had a fantastic week-end, the weather hasn't been too bad has it... just cold bbrrr!  Can you believe we are almost out of March already.  David and I are going to Germany this week as it's our Grandsons 6th Birthday, he is growing up so fast! Really looking forward to it.

Anyway on to my card for today, it's Tuesday so it's time for another challenge over at Papertake Weekly which is a lovely sketch challenge.  You can use the new sketch that Dawny has done, or you can choose a different one from the lovely collection on the Papertake Weekly blog here, but remember it must be one of ours. I chose the new sketch, it was lovely to work with and I really enjoyed making it, once I had found my mojo as he did a little walk about this week lol!!

I used another LOTV pre-coloured art pad image from Set 3 'Wild Flowers'... I used a sprinkling of frantage around the edges, I love this stuff! (I did knock the whole jar over, but managed to scoop most of it up lol!!).. I've just had one of those weeks lol!!  It's lovely and sparkly as I used lots of Stardust Stickles on the flowers, butterflies and my flower at the bottom.  I also put a strip of navy and gold ribbon tucked under the blue panel, the photo doesn't show it up to well, but the little bit of gold really sparkles too.  The flower die is a gorgeous Tim Holtz die that I bought at the 'Harrogate' show last week, I think I'm going to get a lot of use out of this, and of course I used my old faithful 'Marianne' swirl die! butterflies are Martha Stewart all jazzed up with stickles and pearls.  I also popped the lovely doo hickey 'So wrapped, Lovely' Die into the side. The lovely papers are 'Petal Fresh' from LOTV by Mary Fran.

Challenge Entered
LOTV - Bingo (Ribbon, Pearls and Flowers)
Sister Act - Anything Goes
Brown Sugar - Anything Goes
Love to Create - Bingo (Flowers, Blue and Ribbon)

Hope you all have a 'FABULOUS' Mother's Day on Sunday, and hope you all get very, very spoilt.  When my kids were little I always got breakfast in bed (which David and the kids had put together) and we would all open my pressies together, me still half a sleep, but the kids loved it, and the kids would jump up and down on the bed with excitement and say 'come on Mum open your pressies, come on lol!!  It was fabulous, do miss those special times.  What would we do without memories hey! Talking about memory, don't forget to pop over to PTW and see the fabulous cards the other girls have made, lots of fabulous inspiration and a prize to be won too!...

Sorry I seem to have waffled on a bit here... Have a great week and take care...

Bingo at Papertake Weekly

Good morning everyone,

I would just like to say a 'Big Thank You' to everyone for the lovely wishes you sent me regarding my Aunty Hilda, they are very much appreciated.  One of the things I love about crafting is that most of us are really caring of other people, and your well wishes and encouragement always make me feel better, whether it's something that's happened in my life or just an encouraging comment about a card, I've never met a lot of you but feel sometimes that you are my closest friends:) xx  Sending you all big cyber hugs xx

So on to my card for today it's Tuesday so it's time for Papertake Weekly challenge and the theme for this week is 'Bingo' below is the grid and if you don't know how to play it's easy, just choose one of the lines in any direction and include them on your card.

My choice for this week is the top line

I have used this lovely stamp from LOTV called 'Handbags'  I used Tim Holtz distress inks to colour it in and sprinkled frantage around the edges, also glittered the lovely flowers and butterflies with stickles.  I also inked around the edges and even the ribbon got a swipe with the ink pad lol!! The gorgeous pearls are from Ribbon Girl as well as some of the flowers. The little gems inside the flowers were from the hobby house.  I also made a little pull out tag from the gorgeous paper.  I used one of LOTV's lovely verses Set 10.

Wild Flowers

Good morning all, where does the time go to?... We are busy replacing our kitchen at the moment, David and I decided to do it ourselves as the fitting costs were astronomical, and I am also working extra hours at work so no time to sit and relax lol!!  I did go to the Harrogate show though a couple of weeks ago... Debs and I had a fabulous time and bought some lovely goodies...  I managed to get my hands on the new paper pads from LOTV they really are gorgeous, and they can also be used for other occasions not just Christmas, so good all rounders:) I watched a lovely demonstration on embossing and can't wait to have a go with my new embossing powders, also picked a few tips up on stamping and inking. It makes all the difference when you are shown the correct way on how to use the tools you have!
I still haven't managed to take photo's of my cards I made with my distress inks, as the kitchen is taking up a lot of time and energy.. I think projects like this make you realize you are not as young as you were lol!!! But we are getting there and it will be worth it in the end:)

A peek at the inside

I made this card for Debs birthday, the image is from LOTV's art pads and I have used frantage on the sides. The little tags are also from LOTV . The paper is called 'Pretty in Pink' by Glitz. I distressed all the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink, sorry I can't remember what colour I used now, I think it was Victorian Velvet.... the layout is a 'paper take weekly' sketch, which I was going to enter, then missed the deadline lol!!  There is a lovely new challenge also starting at The Ribbon Girl for Lili of the Valley products, so click here and have a look.. happy crafting:)..

Challenges Entered
LOTV Monthly Challenge - Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl Blog - Lovely Lili Challenge 'Anything Goes'
Bearly Mine #108 - Anything Goes

Would just like to say sorry for not being a good blogger, and hope to get back to normal soon, I still have lots of Christmas cards to make... I could also do with some magic elves to help with the kitchen lol!!!
Take Care,
Love and Hugz
