Oh Christmas Tree

Good Morning everyone.. at last I have managed take a photo of my Christmas card, in-between work, kitchen DIY and housework lol!! Debs and  I also managed to get to the Dome in Doncaster on Sunday for Paulas 'Stamp Magic' show ... I didn't buy very much just a couple of essentials.. what am I saying everything I buy is essential lol!!! , I did feel a bit guilty leaving David with the kitchen, but it was nice just for a couple of hours to have a browse and a cup of coffee with my best friend.. my lovely daughter:).   I met up with Carole another fellow crafter, a really nice lady who I met at the LOTV shop earlier in the year and we've kept in touch via email and have met up at a couple of shows we've been too, it was lovely to have a chat:)... anyway on to my card... it's a LOTV image called 'Oh Christmas Tree' and I coloured it with my distress pens, I do looove these pens as blending is so easy with them..I'm itching now to get some more colouring done lol!!  A bit of a photo overload I'm afraid...

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card... I heat embossed the card, poinsettia and leaf edges in gold.  I also heat embossed around the edge of the tag...  I added glamour dust to the fur hat and coat edges, and used stickles stardust on the snow (a little tip from Anne xx).  I faux stitched around the edge of the image which was coloured with distress markers and a little prisma pencil.  I used my new doohickey heart tag.. ( I think everyone in blog land has one of these now lol!!) but it is soooo lovely:)  I added ribbon, gold lace, pearls and a pearl brad for the centre of the poinsettia.  The lovely memory box star is one of my favourites at the moment! Papers are 'Merry Little Christmas' by Marianne.

Wild Flowers

Good morning all, where does the time go to?... We are busy replacing our kitchen at the moment, David and I decided to do it ourselves as the fitting costs were astronomical, and I am also working extra hours at work so no time to sit and relax lol!!  I did go to the Harrogate show though a couple of weeks ago... Debs and I had a fabulous time and bought some lovely goodies...  I managed to get my hands on the new paper pads from LOTV they really are gorgeous, and they can also be used for other occasions not just Christmas, so good all rounders:) I watched a lovely demonstration on embossing and can't wait to have a go with my new embossing powders, also picked a few tips up on stamping and inking. It makes all the difference when you are shown the correct way on how to use the tools you have!
I still haven't managed to take photo's of my cards I made with my distress inks, as the kitchen is taking up a lot of time and energy.. I think projects like this make you realize you are not as young as you were lol!!! But we are getting there and it will be worth it in the end:)

A peek at the inside

I made this card for Debs birthday, the image is from LOTV's art pads and I have used frantage on the sides. The little tags are also from LOTV . The paper is called 'Pretty in Pink' by Glitz. I distressed all the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink, sorry I can't remember what colour I used now, I think it was Victorian Velvet.... the layout is a 'paper take weekly' sketch, which I was going to enter, then missed the deadline lol!!  There is a lovely new challenge also starting at The Ribbon Girl for Lili of the Valley products, so click here and have a look.. happy crafting:)..
