Wednesday Already

Good Morning everyone,
Just a quick up date this morning, my Mum is feeling a lot happier in herself at the moment as they have changed her medication which seems to be working better...fingers crossed. She still needs to go for more tests though, which will be in a couple of weeks hopefully.   Thank you for all the thoughtful messages you have left me regarding my Mum, she was quiet overwhelmed with all the good wishes, you are all such wonderful people Mwhah!!
Also a big hello to my new followers.
I haven't had much time for crafting this last couple of weeks so I don't have a card to share today, but thought you might like to see the boxes I made to go with the previous cards I made. I love the one I made for Grace, the cotton lace around the box really set it off, Phylis was quiet pleased with it anyway.  Amy's box is a little plain and simple, but I quiet like it.

What would we do without our die cutting machines, my trusty steed is a cuttlebug lol!!  The dies I have used for the corners are also cuttle bug and the swirl is a Marianne die, butterfly is Martha Stewart, and the gorgeous flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.

Hope you all have a fabulous week, in this lovely warm sunshine.  It is another glorious day here in Yorkshire...Thank you for stopping by, will try and get round to visit soon...
Big hugs,
Marjorie

Nevaeh - Saturated Canary

Hi Everyone, Sorry I haven't been around for a while but my mum has not been too well.  Last week Mum ended up in hospital for a couple of nights, while they did tests..still don't know what is really up, so they are treating her for Angina, we just have to wait and see how she is on the medication they have given her.  She is up and down at the moment.  Deb and I witnessed an horrific accident on the way to pick my mum up from the hospital.  Deb hopefully may have saved the lady involved from having more serious injuries than what she could have had..all in all we didn't have a very good week.
Any way I have managed to make another card for Amy..Amy's Mum wanted a special card making too lol!!  I have chosen Nevaeh by Krista Smith from Saturated Canary, I think I'm hooked on these gorgeous images lol! Mind you Kat did say once you have done one, you have to do them all lol!! and she's right lol!!  Photo's are pants again but the second one is more true as her hair is darker than on the first one.  I have coloured her with prisma pencils, distressed all the papers in brown fluid chalk by colorbox, also distressed all the embellishments butterfly etc.

Card Recipe
Papers: Memory Box Brioche
Lace & Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon and Pearls & Diamond Stickles my stash
Letters and Numbers: Tim Holtz Carnivale
Butterfly: Martha Stewart
Flourish: Marianne and Tilda

Challenges

I have been trying to put this post on for a couple of days, everything is upside down at the moment.  I am at the doctors with mum again this morning, she is still not feeling very well, it may be the tablets.  Will try and come and say hello when I get a chance..
Biggest of Hugs and thank you for stopping by:)

Yo Yo

Good morning everyone,
I have been so busy this week, so I am a little late in posting. A big welcome to my lovely new followers, and thank you to everyone for leaving me such lovely comments on my Pretty Bouquet card..I also came in the top three for LOTV...still walking on air lol!!
My card today is called Yo Yo from the lovely Krista Smith. This is my first Krista image, isn't she just adorable, I love her hair and those lovely earrings, had a pair just like this in the late 60's!!  I love all the little details Krista has put in like rings on her fingers and toes, and I think young Amy will love her too!  I have coloured her with my Prisma Pencils and added a little Glamour dust around her petticoat at the bottom of her skirt.  Also added Stickles star dust to all the flowers.
I've made another easel card as Wild Orchids challenge this week is fancy folds, as this is the only fancy fold I can do at the moment, thought I would make this for their challenge.

Pretty Bouquet

Good Morning Everyone,
Wow! what a shock..what happened to blogger! I wasn't very good with the last one, so I don't know what I'll be like with this, anyway not to worry I'm sure I will work it out lol!!
My card for today is Pretty Bouquet by LOTV, she is gorgeous.  I loved her from the moment I saw her.  I have made her for my Mom's birthday in May...am I good or what lol! I'm a bit ahead of myself for a change lol!!
This is my take on Dawny P's sketch for Simon Says..do you think it qualifies?

A peek at the inside

Card Recipe
Image: Pretty Bouquet by LOTV
Colour medium: Prisma Pencils
Design Paper: Love Song by Pion Design
Embellishments: Lace and flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon - My local market
Gems: Papermania
Die: Spellbinders Labels Eighteen
Corner: Cuttlebug
Sentiment: Computer Generated
Glitter: Stickles Diamond and Liquid Pearls Lemon Yellow

I coloured her with my prisma's and learnt a little bit about colour..have tried many combinations to achieve the colour I wanted. The colours you think you should use, are not always the right ones and you have to try from different shades of that colour, up and down the spectrum, if you know what I mean.
I have used Liquid Pearls on the flowers and the spine of the butterfly..hope this qualifies for lotv's challenge  diamonds and pearls..didn't have any pearls that would go with the colours I have chosen, the liquid pearls look quiet good on the real thing. I also finished the flowers and butterfly with Stickles Diamond.
The papers are really gorgeous, and I used the complimentary papers inside as they came on a 12x12 sheet in a set of 4.  My sentiment was computer generated.

Would like to say thank you for all the lovely comments on my easel card, and also a big welcome to my new followers...do appreciate the time you all take to come and visit me..mwah!!

My First Easel Card - "Walker"

Good morning everyone, it is still cold here in Yorkshire.  I do wonder if Summer is ever going to come lol!!
I have just finished a card for one of my neighbours, who wanted a card for her great-granddaughters Christening .  So I decided to do an easel card this is my very first attempt..I wanted it really girly and I am really pleased with the way it has turned out..It's took me ages but in real life it is quiet lovely.  Really pants photo's just couldn't get a decent shot, don't know what I'm doing wrong...anyway this one was taken outside unfortunatly you can't see the gorgeous paper it is so sparkly all my flowers and image have stickles stardust and the lace around her little dress and socks are also really sparkly.
The image is sooo cute, you feel like you want to whisk her up and give her a big cuddle lol!! it's by Mo Manning and she's called "Walker".  I'm really loving Mo's images at the moment and have bought quiet a few...can't help myself lol!!  She was such a pleasure to colour, and I used my new stock of paper from Germany that Steve and Nicole brought me, it's only cheap index paper but works really well with the prismas, I'm getting to grips with colours, trying different combinations.  The colouring is much deeper, than what the photo shows though.
The first photo is taken outside and is more true to colours, but I just couldn't capture the sparkly bits lol!! I got the idea for the doo hickey die down the sides from Iulia's blog, I really do love it and her card looked stunning, please take a visit to her blog as she makes the most amazing cards!!
The papers are a new pad from Forever Friends called New Arrival, they really are lovely! The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon is from Bunny Zoe's and the lace is from my local market.  My little cross charm I put tiny pink adhesive stones in as it is shaped like little hearts..really sweet.  I think I went overboard on the buttons lol!!  I wanted to keep the section at the bottom quiet simple so as not to distract from the top, so only put a few flowers around the sentiment, which is computer generated.
I do have a bit of a photo overload...sorry:)

Taken Outside - colours are more true

Taken inside

Taken inside - the colours look salmon instead of pink

This is the a picture of the card laid straight

I would like to enter for the following challenges
