New Sketch at PTW

Good morning everyone, can you believe it, I've managed two posts in one week lol!!  Todays post is my GDT card for 'Papertake Weekly' which is a lovely new sketch from Dawny.  You don't have to use this one, you can choose from any of the other sketches as long as it's a PTW one you can find them here. I chose to use the new one.  I don't have any large round dies (they are on my shopping list for the next craft show lol!!).. so I used a paper doily, which I think looks quiet pretty.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I saw this sketch, isn't it funny how some cards come together easy and others you really have to work at lol!!  The lovely bird cage I got from a very kind friend Chrissy who sent me some cut dies to have a play with, all the way from New Zealand, how fab is that!

LOTV 10th Birthday

Good evening everyone, the sun is actually coming out now it's time to go to bed lol!!  Just popping in with a card I've made for LOTV's 10th Birthday.. It's the lovely Jack, Patch and Puss I just love these little characters!!  I have actually used one of the art pads that you colour in yourself.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Pens to colour it in. It should be watercolour paper really, as the inks didn't want to blend too well, but considering it was the wrong paper I think it turned out quiet well!  I did have a problem with glossy accents though, it took the colour out of the balloons, has anybody else had problems with using the two together?

Card Recipe

Colouring medium - Tim Holtz Distress Pens
Papers - LOTV 'Candles & Cake' by Mary Fran
Lace - LOTV

I would just like to wish everyone at LOTV all the very best, and I look forward to many more years of happy crafting with your lovely stamps and art pads, plus all the little extra's that you have in the shop lol!! You have a great team, and I am so looking forward to your fabulous 10th Birthday bash!!!

I'll be back tomorrow with another card as it's the 'Papertake Weekly' Challenge... see you then..

White on White

Good morning everyone,
What a hectic week, but I really enjoyed the Easter week-end, hope you all had a fabulous Easter too!  Well can you believe it's Tuesday (Not Monday as I thought lol!!)...  so it's time for another fabulous challenge over at Papertake Weekly.. this week Dawny is asking for White + 1 so your base card needs to be white with one other colour.. I have done mainly white with a hint of blue in the pearls, and the flower is my first attempt at making a Tattered Floral Flower by Tim Holtz. I think I might need a little more practice lol!!
Sorry about the awful photo, just couldn't get any good lighting, and when I tried to edit it, it just went worse, so I left it as it was in natural light.  It has been really overcast though!

Happy Easter

Good afternoon everyone, hope you have all had a great week.  I'm on a mission at the moment, I feel my cards need a bit of umph!!  I want to make something a bit different, so I'm trying out a few different card folds, first up is this centre step card which I came across in one of my card magazines.  I had to alter it a little to fit in with my design for this Easter Card. Hope you like it!

We have a lovely challenge today over at 'Papertake Weekly', Dawny has chosen an Easter Theme... you can make a card for Easter or include something egg shaped or oval on your card, so I decided to go with an Easter card and this little image is just right for this card fold too... I had lots of fun dressing it up!

I Decoupaged the eggs, you can see it a little in this photo

I am really pleased how it's turned out. I have had this lovely image for ages in my drawer, it's called 'Spring Bunny with eggs' from LOTV.  I used my Tim Holz Distress markers to colour it.  I haven't done any colouring for a while so it was lovely to sit and relax for awhile lol!!  I made a bit of a mess of the image so coloured a second one, and didn't like that either, so I decided to use the first bunnie and decoupage the eggs, I got this idea from Debby who uses decoupage all the time, her cards are amazing, you can see her lovely work here.

Spring Has Sprung!

Good morning everyone, I can't believe it's been almost a week since our break in Germany.  We had a fabulous time, the weather was really kind to us and Liam was a little gem!! Wish the airport strike had gone on a little longer then we would have had more time there lol!!

Hope you all had a great week-end, Deborah and I went to LOTV and did a 3D Class with Dawny.. It was fabulous, we made a lovely 'Birthday Box', which I didn't quiet manage to finish so when it's done I'll put it on my blog.  I want to make a couple for Christmas as they are so nice, you can see Dawny's here.  I have never really made a 3D project before, other than boxes for my cards, so was really pleased with myself lol!! I also bought more goodies as you do lol!!

Any way on to my card for today, it's for my guest spot at Papertake Weekly and this week you need to make a card with 'Spring' in mind or you could just use Spring Colours.  Nice and easy.. there will also be a lovely prize up for grabs too, so do come along and have a go!

A peek at the inside

I used a jelly roll pen on the petals tried to get a photo, it just gives it a little extra sparkle.  Also used Frosty Lace stickles on his little tail, it doesn't show up to well I'm afraid!

I used my distress markers to give the image more depth
