Born To Shop

Good morning everyone, what a fabulous week of sunshine we have had... I wonder how long it will last lol!! Hope you have all had a good week.  As it's Tuesday it's time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly',  Dawny has a lovely sketch for you this week or you can choose any of the other sketches on the blog, but remember it must be one of our sketches you can find them here.  I chose to go with the new one. I have used a lovely stamp called 'Born to Shop' I got it free with a magazine some time ago, and this card is for someone who loves to shop... (don't we all lol!!)

This is my take on the sketch, I swapped some of the elements around a little, remember it can be exact or you can move elements around to fit in with what you would like

I coloured the image with my inktense pencils and cut around the image. I used one of Tim Holtz embossing folders then cut a circle out of the middle and adhered the image to the centre with mounting squares. did some faux stitching around the circle and embossed paper, added a stamped sentiment from LOTV and some lovely ribbon from LOTV and some gems. I also die cut some flowers and added a little gem to each one.  I really enjoyed using the circle die, you can get some fabulous effects if you play around with them, quiet like the way this card turned out...

Jolly Holidays

Good morning everyone, sorry I haven't posted for a while, but have been busy with house hunting with Debs, Still can't get used to the idea she will be moving. Selling and moving location and job are so stressful but everything is falling into place and the sale will be through by 9th August, she is still waiting to here whether she has secured one of the houses we have visited, but they are a dragging there heels a bit, if she can't find anywhere she is going to store her furniture for a while.  The hospital she is moving to has accommodation for staff that are in transit so her and Candice will rent an apartment for a few weeks, we are going on holiday the middle of August too, it has been booked since before she got her new job, so as you can imagine we are all a little stressed at the moment lol!! .. anyway its Tuesday already and time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' and this week its a nice easy one 'Jolly Holidays'... you can interpret this any way you like I was going to do one ready for our Summer Holidays but my printer is acting up at the moment and the image I wanted to use is a digi!! so I went with a Christmas Theme, and I now have another Christmas card made yayhhh!!!.

Now these little bears look as though they are ready for there Jolly Holidays, don't you think lol!! I've used one of the older ready coloured toppers from LOTV called Christmas Animals.  I have lots of these and really must use them up and make some cards, they are so cute!  The lovely papers are from the Woodland Wishes and Simple Joys paper pads by Mary Fran at LOTV, and I have distressed them and inked them up with Vintage Photo distress ink by Tim Holtz.  I've used two sentiments from the Christmas Sentiment Tags also from LOTV, and the big Merry Christmas is again from Avalon Esoterics which I purchased from a craft show a couple of months back. I've used a Marianne Snowflake doily die and a small slender firs die from Magnolia.  I've glittered everything up with Stardust Stickles and Glamour Dust and white pearls, it looks better in real life than my pants photos lol!!

Challenges Entered

We are sponsored this week by the lovely Liz from 'Buttons for Brains' so do come along and join in with us.

That's it for now guys, I'm at the hospital with Mum this morning she has to have a few blood tests, but they say it's nothing to worry about, but you always do don't you... I'm going to schedule this post as I'm on work this afternoon too!!

Stars And Stripes

Good morning, well here we are well into the second week of July, hope all the girls in the USA had a fabulous 4th July!! I bet there were lots of fire works and party's going on over the week-end!... We had our own celebrations here in Yorkshire this week-end, what a fabulous turn out it was for the Tour De France!! It brought back so many memories for me and my hubby as David and Steven used to do all the cycle race's in South Africa, they were both very big into cycling!!  My South African followers would know the well known 'Die Burger' cycle run, 'The Argus -PicknPay Rotary cycle tour, 'False Bay Round Table' Cape Point cycle tour just to name a few!! these were all back in the late eighty's and ninety's... It's a fabulous feeling of pride to be part of such an amazing event, and Yorkshire really did the tour proud... 'Well Done Yorkshire'!! We mustn't forget to mention Lewis Hamilton too, what a fabulous win for this great racing driver!!!

Having said all that I had better get on to my card for today which is for this weeks 'Papertake Weekly' Challenge.  The theme for this week is 'Stars and Stripes'...

Christmas in July

Good morning everyone, Time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' and being the first of the month it's Anything Goes with the option of Christmas.. it's only an option though, I promise myself every year to start early for Christmas so this is the ideal opportunity, so here is my first Christmas Card for this year.  LOTV are our sponsors this week so I have used an image from one of the pre-coloured art pads 'Festive Foliage'.  I love the colours in this image and have embellished it with some gorgeous deep red velvet lace from the Ribbon Girl, I should of ordered more of this as I think it's going to become a favourite on my cards!.. After taking thousands of photo's this is the best one I could come up with, but it still doesn't show the true colours of the card, they all match so beautifully, right down to the pearls which you can't see very well... I made the poinsettia from a Spellbinders die and the foliage is a Marianne holly die, also the papers are by Marianne too.. I love this Christmas pad!

Challenge Entered
Christmas Card Challenges - #31 Anything Goes
Craftyhazelnuts Christmas Challenge - Lets Get Sentimental

Our sponsors this week are LOTV and are offering a £10 voucher to the winner, so do join us this week, we would love to see your fabulous cards, also do pop across and see what my fabulous teamies and guest designers have made.

That's it from me for today but before I go I must just tell you this, all the challenges I entered on my last card, except for one, I forgot to link up lol!! There is still time to link some of them up so that's what I'm going to do when I get home from work later lol!!  I don't know what's wrong with me at the moment lol!!

You all take care...
