I've just finished a card for Liam as he is four this week...where has time gone too, it doesn't seem five minutes since he was born.
Anyway on to my card...I loved this stamp as soon as I saw it, it's from the Crissy Armstrong collection at Whimsy Stamps I have really enjoyed colouring this one in, and have got a little of my mojo back, as my colouring wasn't going where I wanted it too, I found a lovely blog, Moni makes the most beautiful cards and her colouring is stunning, she has a lovely tutorial on colouring with Prismas which I found really helpful. I'm not very good with colour, so some of her tips really helped! I also think the paper I was using wasn't quiet right for Prismas, coloured this on a more rough paper, it's one I got from one of the shows, I also use it to make my card bases .. I do think it gives the pencils more density of colour. (sorry don't know the name of it but it is 300gm weight). The papers I used are absolutely gorgeous, they were a birthday present from Deb a few years ago, I was going to use them to scrapbook Liam when he was a baby...and now he's four lol!! I just love this pennant die from Whimsy stamps too..lots of things you can do with them!!
A peek at the inside

ReplyDeleteThis is so fantastic, I hardly know where to begin. You chose perfect papers that match the image well. Your colouring is really superb. I love your shading and highlighting. It gives the image a 3D effect. Your little embellishments, like the little lizard charm, twine and buttons are perfect and add that something extra to make this card really stand out. Just wonderful!!!
