Bang The Drum

Hi everyone, hope you have all had a great week, hasn't the weather been beautiful... how time flies it's Tuesday already and time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' and being the last one of the month it's ' A Sketchy Free For All' ... You can use the new one that Dawny has provided or you can choose any of the other sketches  here... I have used the new one it was a lovely sketch to work with and my card came together so easily.. I do love sketches...

I've left the inside blank so the girls can sign it too..

I

I have made this card for my managers little boy who will be one next month.  Isn't this image gorgeous and just right for a one year old lol!  I coloured him with my inktense pencils, I know I keep saying this but these pencils are so lovely to use, when I wet them and they magically turn into these fabulous vibrant colours I feel like a kid again lol!!, do you remember the old painting books where you just had to add water and the colour came through, they remind me of them lol!!  I embossed the no.1 and the sentiment with blue embossing powder, wow this stuff gets every where doesn't it lol!! added ribbon and some stars and that was it.. done! I think I've gone a bit skew with my insert only noticed it when taking photos, how annoying, I hate things that are not straight, but no time to make another now....every time I look at it now I see it more and more, it wont move as it's stuck down pretty good lol!!

Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Simon Says Stamp company so do come along and join us.. you can also see the fabulous cards the rest of the team have made for you this week.

For The Boys

Hello everyone, hope you have all had a great week. Mine was quiet busy as usual lol!! Debs and I was going to go to 'Stamp Magic' on Sunday, but before we knew it the day had flown and it was too late in the afternoon to go :(... never mind it gives us more pennies to spend at the next one lol!!

Wow! It's Tuesday already and it's time for another challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly' and the theme this week is 'For The Boys'.  My card today is for my younger brother who has just turned 60.. bless:).. He has always been a lover of the American Indian culture, and I saw this image ages ago and thought it would be great for Ken's 60th, because he is the big chief now lol!!!  the company that produced this image is no longer online so I am so glad I got it when I did.

I have coloured this lovely chief with my Tim Holtz distress inks. His face is coloured with Derwent colour soft pencils, it's the first time I've used them and had to go on the internet to get some tips, as I wasn't quiet sure how you blended them.. I am really pleased how it turned out and my brother loved it.. I struggled to find embellishments so made the little wigwam my self.  The back ground papers I have had for years and the strip down the middle is LOTV - 'Father Knows Best' paper pack. The numbers were plain chipboard which I embossed with gold embossing powder. I die cut the corner and the happy birthday and embossed them too.  The sentiment is from LOTV scroll sentiments.. I use this such a lot. The ribbon is from 'The Ribbon Girl'

I think she is waiting for the sun to come out from behind those clouds lol!! After I had stuck them down, I realized I should really have had the sun shining brightly... but she looks like she's having a wonderful time sat there on her little Lily pad lol!! I made three versions of this card and just couldn't seem to get it right, but finally decided on this design, I wanted to make her centre of attraction, and I think she steals the show don't you lol!!! Just To Say....

Hi everyone, here we are nearly out of May, can you believe it, where are these weeks going too!!.. hope you all had a fabulous bank holiday week-end, we have been painting and getting things ready so the estate agents can come and take some photo's of Debs house. I am happy and sad when I think about her moving, but it's a fabulous opportunity for her and Candice.... but I will miss seeing them every day.. although we do have skype, so I think that will be well used lol!!

Anyway onto today's challenge over at 'Papertake Weekly'.. Dawny has done a lovely sketch for us, but as always you can choose one of the older ones if you prefer, which are here!... I love using a sketch, as it's a good place to start especially if Mr Mojo has gone walk about lol!! Sorry about the pants photo, the colours are not really true as the ribbon is a lot lighter and co-ordinates much better in real life, I've been trying and trying to get a decent photo, but this is about the best... sorry!  I have used this gorgeous fairy stamp that I won at LOTV and she is called 'Petal' isn't she just lovely.  I think she can be used for so many different occasions.   I have finally got around to having a go with my inktense pencils, they are a lot different than my distress pens but I love the vibrant colours, but I need a lot of practise with them.  This is a very glittery card as I've used lots of star dust stickles and also some liquid pearls.  The papers are also from LOTV.

Oh so Cute!

Good morning everyone, hope you all had a fabulous week, wasn't the week-end just gorgeous.  I even managed to go to a Land Rover show with David and a crafting show with Debs.. then a nice BBQ on Sunday the first one of the season... my brother John and Chrissy came also, so there was seven of us altogether, it was great we had a bit of a celebration for my Mom's 87th Birthday, she loved it!

My card today is for Papertake Weekly, and Dawny would love to see something 'Cute' it was so hard to choose as I have so many lovely images.  I did want to use one of my new fairy stamps but my week has just flown bye.  I still haven't got around to trying my inktense pencils yet either!!  So I chose one of my trusty Art Pad images and isn't this just the cutest little bear you have ever seen lol!!  I glittered Jenny the bear with cotton candy stickles and matted her onto a spellbinders square scalloped die. I also made a daisy flower, the pink is a lot softer in real life. I inked all the card with a lovely soft pink, but it doesn't show up very well on the photos.
